SOAR Tutor Requirements

(All tutors must meet the standards below before joining the SOAR team.)

Academic Performance

  • Must have earned an A (90% or higher) in the course you wish to tutor.

  • For AP subjects, you must have earned a score of 5 on the AP exam for that subject.

Teacher Verification

  • Provide confirmation from your subject teacher or counselor verifying your academic proficiency and responsibility.

Application & Interview

  • Complete the SOAR Tutor Application Form (button below).

  • Participate in a short interview with a SOAR officer or faculty sponsor to demonstrate your subject knowledge and communication skills.

Training & Code of Conduct

  • Attend a SOAR Tutor Orientation Session covering expectations, tutoring strategies, and professionalism.

  • Sign the SOAR Tutor Code of Conduct, agreeing to uphold punctuality, respect, and preparation standards.

Ongoing Accountability

  • Maintain strong academic standing in your own classes.

  • Receive ongoing feedback from students and parents — continued eligibility depends on consistent positive performance.
